Sculptures that leave one breathless

Friday I visited the de Young Museum ~ and really it was about the wire sculptures of Ruth Osawa. To walk into the room where they are hanging literally took my breath away ~ they are awe inspiring. The way they are hung with the lights and shadow make them even more compelling. For some reason they instilled a sense of safety and peace just to be near them. In doing some research on Ruth, I was doubly impressed at her commitment to art through all of her years into today as well as her support of art in schools.
