New Year's Ride ~ reflections to ponder

January First of every year always inspires me to consider infinite possibilities. Today I summarized some intentions as I rode through West Marin in rather cool temperatures and brilliant sunshine :  look forward and back but stay present, stop to see and feel the moments (don't rush by), stay curious and investigate those unusual things that appear before you, take care of yourself (stay warm) after a hard day's work, see where you've been, notice the patterns and wake up to the new possibilities, recognize the opportunities and gravitate toward others who do these things too.

"You look at where you're going and where you are and it never makes sense, but then you look back at where you've been and a pattern seems to emerge."

seeing behind and seeing in front at all times ~ important lessons
bucolic cows near Nicasio with the electric green of new grass brought on by the winter rains

unusual sights are everywhere, this whimsical decoration of a tree in Pt. Reyes Station got my attention

45 degree average temperatures are rewarded by a very hot fire at the end of the day

73 mile loops through Marin ~ my personal favorite
