Yesterday afternoon I came across the most intriguing art exhibit at Cavallo Point in Sausalito called From Kehoe to Cavallo: The Mystery in the Mess and it was one of the more meaningful and impressive series of pieces I've seen in awhile. Growing up on a beach town myself, I've seen hundreds of pieces of plastic on the sands so I could very much relate. Judith and Richard have been collecting plastic debris from Kehoe Beach (Pt. Reyes, California) since 1999. The piece that really got my attention was "Wreath of Soldiers", 2008 by the artists Judith Selby Lang and Richard Lang. They have a fantastic website as well as a blog and their post from June 8 about the Kraft red plastic cheese spreaders is brilliant.
