Today I was back on the motorcycle headed North and West in order to cover miles to "home" in the Bay Area. I wasn't expecting a challenging day from Durango to Moab, Utah but lo and behold, the wind had other plans. From Dove Creek, Colorado to Monticello, Utah... I rode through some of the most ferocious wind I've ever experienced in all my years on the motorcycle. The car behind me would have witnessed me leaning at the 110 ° on of the traditional upright 90 degree as the wind came to my left side with 45 mph gusts as I learned later from a weather station. But consistent wind of 30 mph was enough to be daunting. I hunkered down behind my windshield and held on with both hands. Then as I got closer to Moab, a few tumbleweeds decided to commute in front of me at a hurried wind-induced pace, fortunately I managed to avoid them. They were the size of hippity-hops. Tomorrow on to Park City, Utah for two nights.
