Stay routinely curious ~ that's the message

Last night's event was impressive at Swissnex as they sponsored an event to host the two visiting pilots of the breakthrough solar airplane set to fly around the world without fuel ~ called Solar Impulse. You'll be hearing more about this innovative plane as they fly out of Moffett Field on May 1 to commence the Eastward leg (multiple stops along the way) to New York ~ part of the continuous round-the-globe journey.

AndrĂ© Borschberg and Bertrand Piccard created an engaging presentation and then answered questions from the audience ~ they are an amazing example of human spirit, pioneering attitude, adventure, message of hope and teamwork in using this clean technology to fly around the world. It felt like being in a room with astronauts.

One of the concepts Dr. Piccard mentioned is that he has always been a curious person and this has pushed him to seek adventures routinely over the years and he stressed how important it is to try and remain curious for a lifetime ~ ask questions, don't be satisfied ~ seek answers, investigate. I couldn't agree more.

"When you see someone putting on his Big Boots, you can be pretty sure that an Adventure is going to happen."

I read an article about these two recently (in Smithsonian, I think). They are very complementary in their areas of expertise. One is all engineer. The other is a consummate entrepreneur and dreamer.
