A study in junk drawers ~ portraits of a special nature

“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.”

Every house seems to have them ~ not one but several "junk drawers". The drawers that are catch-all for small items of sometimes questionable use. Last month I was cleaning out just such drawers at my parents house and I got to thinking "wow, all these unusual things are a mess and seemingly strange in these drawers but also they are intrinsically beautiful." For the last month as I go through my own personal few junk drawers in my annual spring clean, I decided tonight to arrange them as "art" and so the result looks like this ~ granted as the artist I am able to edit the contents but you get the idea.

Then I wondered if perhaps there were others out there that have undertaken similar analysis and so only moments later I was comforted to find this website that delved deeper into "junk drawer art". I think everyone should try it! I'm going to post now on Facebook and Twitter to elicit feedback hopefully with similar photos.
