Dungeness Crabs in Washington


This is Cousin Dan Tatum ~ he has been living in Gardiner, Washington on and off since 1952 when his grandparents bought the property where he lives now with his wife Marylou. Dan is an expert with Dungeness Crab preparation and that's what we're eating tonight. Here's how to do it:

Select the crab(s) at your local Port Townsend commercial fishery (since it's out of season for sports fishermen at this time) Clean crab, split it in two, bring water to a boil and make sure the water is seawater, put crab in, bring to boil again and cook for 18 minutes, rinse crab off with fresh water, ready to eat.
